'Two Guitar Lovers'

Mason was a good friend of guitarist Jimmy Hendrix, and the story goes that they heard Bob Dylan’s song ‘All Along the Watchtower’ from Dylan’s album John Wesley Harding together for the first time. This lead to Hendrix recording his own version of Dylan’s song at Olympic Studios in South West London, with Mason playing a 12 string acoustic guitar for the recording of the track. The track would be released on Hendrix 1968 album Electric Lady. Hendrix’s version of ‘All Along the Watchtower’ gained love and admiration from Dylan himself! Dylan commented that Hendrix brought something to the song that Dylan couldn’t.
